A green/brown-eyed grad student and soon-to-be-archaeologist/sometimes-writer/wannabe-photographer hailing from the lovely industrial/kind-of-hillbilly wasteland of Ashland, Kentucky, who currently lives in the bikeutopia/yuppie-clusterfuck of Fort Collins, Colorado. Has a tendency to drawl long a's and a knack for inappropriate jokes. Loves cooking, hip-hop, flannel shirts, microbrews, owls, knitting, banter, drinking on sundays, and her pickup truck. Devotes inordinate amounts of time and energy to napping and her really ugly dog.
Blogs in an attempt to record/share her overwhelming fascination with/unconditional love for practically everything.

[ Annie Writes Things Down ]
I stopped writing for a long time, and I wasn’t sure why. A photographer friend, who once took a polaroid every day for over a year, recently suggested I try writing things down as often as possible, and sharing them.
So I’ve been trying to do that. I don’t post every day, but I do more often than not. Sometimes I write poems, sometimes prose. Sometimes it’s serious and sometimes it sucks. But I’m writing things down, and that’s a start.
Enjoy.
1. I never set my alarms at round numbers, like 6:30 or 7:00. Instead, 6:29 or 6:47 or 7:04 or something along those lines.
2. I own five different pairs of long-johns.
3. I own four different pairs of aviator sunglasses.
4. I didn’t know until very recently that Boston was north of New York City.
5. I like macaroni salad. The gross mayo-ey kind.
6. I prefer my ponytail holders loose.
7. When I was in 6th grade, I convinced an Indian classmate who didn’t have a middle name to tell all her teachers it was “Spaghetti.”
8. I’ve never been to the Grand Canyon.
9. My favorite vegetable is zucchini. Followed closely by celery and cucumbers.
10. I cross my 7’s and my Z’s.
